On 10 September 2024, the Europe-Georgia Institute had the distinct honor of welcoming Her Excellency Meline Arakelian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia, for an insightful discussion on the functioning of democracy in the Netherlands.
Ambassador Arakelian’s visit provided a unique and valuable opportunity for young Georgian leaders to engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas, deepening their understanding of democratic principles and governance. This discussion highlighted key aspects of the Dutch democratic model, offering lessons that can be applied to strengthen and build a more resilient democracy in Georgia.
